H. East (fl. 1890-1920) An original antique large oil on canvas painting, titled "Fishing on the Derwent" signed by H. East. H. East was a prolific painter who favoured rural scenes and landscapes, often of the south of England. During his lifetime his paintings were never publicly exhibited, but over time they have found their way into several private collections. The canvas was restored and there are signs of restoration on front right of and on back of canvas. The art piece is displayed in a well-presented ornamented swept gilt wooden frame and a gallery display light on top. Framed and signed by H.East. Antique wear and cracks to all sides of the frame, as well as defect after restoration on the canvas.
